Install a Processor in a PC

Install a Processor in a PC

Installing Central Processing Unit

Open the cabinet and locate the processor were it fixed and unpin the cooler and remove the clamp (consult your motherboard's manual)
Open the Processor Socket
Now, locate the processor socket on your motherboard (sometimes it can be hidden below wires, so you may need to gently push those aside). Carefully, open the processor socket by lifting the lever to the open position. This is the actual Central Processing Unit, or CPU.
Install the CPU
Line up the processor next to the slot and see how it should fit in. You will notice that there are several pins missing from the CPU on two of its corners. These coincide with the processor slot.

Now gently lower the CPU into the socket. Do not force it because the pins are very fragile and can bend. Slowly lower the lever to lock the CPU in place.
CPUs and Cooling Systems
Before you use the processor, you must install a cooler. Once it is locked in place then attach its power cable.
